Birdland is now ready to take on the future!
April 30th, 2008So you may have noticed today that Birdland has a new look.
After careful deliberation, I have decided not to create a theme from scratch (It would take waay to long to code everything the way I would have wanted).
On the plus side, I found a great theme that is AJAX-powered. I’d like to thank Nico Berlee for his AjaxBerlee 1.3a WordPress Theme.
What’s New?
Well I’m glad you asked…
Of course the theme.
I added my twitter stream (so you can further stalk me)
I added my flickr stream
But the new stuff looks so … plain
Yeah I know.
I will be playing with the CSS for both the theme (not too much though … I like it). And hopefully will make some massive changes to the two respective streams.
So … what next?
Well,
I need to sort through old posts and do some housecleaning. My future plans for this particular blog include posting more about web design, programming, technology and personal stuff that relates to web design. I will be less and less putting up random videos, notes about what I am doing, or other stuff (I have twitter for that).
On that note, I’d like to introduce you to Birdland Lite. This is a basic tumblog and it will be the place that I put of random videos, notes about life, and other nonsense.
I’ve put up a couple of posts there already, but the real test would be how easy I can post images/video from my phone. If I passes the test, expect to see random pictures and stuff there (would be the perfect place to put vacation stuff).
So thats it … have a browse around and if you have time, you can connect with me on any of the other services I’ve mentioned.

Looks good, I like how clean everything looks.
I really like how the lastest article is called out at the top.
Once upon a time, I used to publish only the current article on my front page, so your way is kind of the best of both worlds, in my opinion.
One thing you might want to add is a Latest Comments widget. It lets your regular readers see what things have been commented on recently. It is a favorite feature of my regular readers, when discussions arise.
Oh and thanks for the Blogroll, link love. I must return the favor.
